How can we care for scoliosis and kyphosis and spondylolisthesis better with conservative care like physical therapy, high-tech scoliosis braces, exercise and other techniques? What can be done to improve surgical care, and understand choices for surgery, learning from those around the world? How can we learn from aviation and from Deming's principles of "Standard Work" to constantly improve spine and all healthcare?

17 yo w adolescent idiopathic scoliosis for surgery today
High thoracic curve. Mom, a nurse, will be sending out updates during day. Using 3d navigation in operating room like O-arm from Brainlab.
I am thinking now that Aleks has always had some degree of congenital scoliosis since he has had pectus excavatum since birth and now it appears to be gone - chest looks completely normal with no swelling. He was the first to notice and is very pleased. He's looking forward to his increased height and straight back! Thanks for all your hard work Dr. Hey.
