Hey Clinic Sep 11 2007 Afternoon Surgery: Degenerative scoliosis and stenosis.

\

This afternoon we helped a 67 yo woman who had previous lumbar laminectomies who developed collapsing kyphoscoliosis with severe stenosis, including a big free fragment disc hernniation at L23. She had a L2-Iliac wing reconstruction this afternoon with 4 level revision laminectomy to relieve the pressure on her nerves, and had that free fragment disc removed as well. Her proper lumbar lordosis was restored, and scoliosis corrected and stabilized.
Surgical time 3 hours 40 minutes.
EBL 900 cc.
Doing well postoperatively.
Will get up to walk tomorrow.
